- NBPA FIRST ANNUAL BOWLING FOR BONE MARROW - EVENT DATE......TBA

The National Black Police Association-Nashville Chapter will host its first will annual event for Bowling for Bone Marrow. The purpose of this event is to bring awareness to health issues pertaining to Bone Marrow.

We will also have other health related activities such as “SKATING FOR SICKLE CELL” & “DANCING FOR DIABETES”. An event such as this takes a lot of participation from members of the community, organizations, as well as health groups. We recognize the strong need to address such a powerful and consuming health problem.

Everyday, thousands of patients with leukemia and other life-threatening diseases are hoping to get the marrow or cord blood transplant that can save their lives. Seventy percent of these, or roughly 10,000 patients a year, will not find a matching donor in their family. Because medical advances are making transplants possible for more patients than ever before, now is the time for more people to join the registry and become involved in saving lives./p>
